Seyoum Yohannes Tesfay

Seyoum has been licensed to practice law since 2006. He draws on his vast experience to counsel clients on legal issues generated by their business transactions. He assists them with the creation of business entities in Ethiopia, their licensing, governance, merger, acquisition and restructuring. He also provides support to clients in negotiating, drafting and closing business deals. Besides, he assists clients navigate the regulatory system of Ethiopia and represents them before courts and arbitration tribunals.

Seyoum wore various hats at different times. He spearheaded the revision of the Commercial Code of Ethiopia as a lead expert and coordinator under the auspices of the Attorney General’s Office He was also a national senior advisor to the Ethiopian Investment Commission. Previously, he was an assistant professor of law at Addis Ababa University.

He holds LL.B from Addis Ababa University and LL.M from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.
